Description
Copper tube end reduction is a process to reduce the diameter of the end of a copper tube. We normally use specialized end reducer or swaging tool to reduce the diameter. We insert the tool into the end of the copper tube then gradually tighten it to reduce the tube diameter.
End reduction is commonly used in plumbing and HVAC systems to connect different sizes of pipes together. It creates a tight, secure connection with a larger or smaller tube by reducing the diameter. It provide a more secure and leak-proof connection.
End reduction can also be used to create a flare on the end of a copper tube, for some types of fittings. The flared end of the tube provides a larger surface area for the fitting to connect to prevent leaks and ensure a tight seal.
